• 300mA pre-excitation current flows into the excitation winding of the rotor as far as the ignition is activated (independent excitation)
• current is induced in the stator by rotation of the rotor.
• of this current roundabout 2-5 Ampere are flowing back to the excitation winding of the rotor over the regulator (self-excitation)
• on terminal B+ the main part of the current can be taken as active current.
